What are the causes of Dry Skin?
The reasons why you got the dry skin can be many:
1- You have naturally got dry skin.
2- It is winter season where most of the people get dry skin.
3- You are not moisturizing your skin properly.
4- You have a history of dry skin or skin diseases in the past.
5- You take shower with very hot water.
6- You are exposed to harsh chemicals.
7- You are using the wrong harsh soap which leaves your skin dry.
8- If you are getting older, the dry skin chances increase.
What are treatment options of Dry Skin?
The very first treatment option for Dry Skin is keeping your skin moisturized. You should buy some good moisturizing soap or creme and use it.
Here are some home based remedies for dry skin:
1- Aloe Vera Gel: Aloe Vera Gel is a good remedy for dry skin. Take some aloe vera, cut it and remove the pulp and use it on your skin. Leave it for some time on your face and then wash it off with luke warm water. This moisturizes your skin well.
2- Olive Oil: Massage your body with olive oil at least 30 minutes before taking shower. After shower, apply some moisturizer.
3- Coconut Oil: Alternatively, you can massage your body with coconut oil and then keep it for few minutes. Wash with luke warm water.
4- Milk or Milk Creme: Both acts as very good moisturizers for skin. Take some milk creme, add some milk and lemon juice to it. Mix well and now apply it on your skin. Keep it for few minutes and then wash it with luke warm water.
5- Honey: Honey also is a good moisturizer for skin. It also helps tighten your skin. Simply apply it on your skin, leave it for 10-15 minutes and then wash it with luke warm water.
6- Glycerin, Rose Water and Lemon Juice: Mix equal quantity of glycerin, rose water and lemon juice. Keep it stored in fridge. Wash your face with luke warm water and then apply few drops of this mixture every night before sleeping. This keeps your skin moisturized.
Sometimes dry skin becomes a severe skin problem. It can lead to problems like allergies, psoriasis etc. Keeping this mind, it is always advisable to consult a dermatologist if the problem is severe.
